Hosting
The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a service by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When you open a page, your browser sends technical data to the hosting servers. This includes your IP address, browser type, date and time, and the page you requested. Google processes this data to deliver the website and to keep it secure. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in operating this website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be processed on servers outside the EU under Google's standard contractual clauses.
Fonts
The site loads the Ubuntu and Roboto typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google servers to fetch them, which transmits your IP address to Google. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a consistent presentation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Videos
Trailers on the case-study pages are embedded click-to-play. No YouTube player loads until you press play. When you do, your browser connects to YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com, operated by Google) and YouTube may process your IP address and set its own cookies. Video preview images are loaded from YouTube's image servers when a case-study page opens. The legal basis for the embed is your action of starting the video (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Email contact
If you email me, I process your address and message to answer you. The legal basis is the initiation of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or my legitimate interest in answering requests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). I keep correspondence only as long as needed or as required by law.
External links
The site links to external services such as app stores, Steam, LinkedIn, Instagram and Medium. Once you follow a link, the privacy policy of that service applies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, the right to restrict or object to its processing, and the right to data portability. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for Berlin is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
